Little.ly is a space that we lovingly call home and has been a source of joy, happiness and connections for us. Sam and I met when we were young. I  studied and went on to run many successful business that excelled in providing a mindful work life balance.

From there our passion was ignited and we set out to create a natural environmentally friendly space where wellbeing and academics was of equal value. Where children would learn how to make connections, express their views and collaborate as part of a team. Where they would develop a sense of agency and a confidence that they could “Do it themselves”

Bachelor of Early Education

I completed my bachelor fresh out of school and taught in a range of schools and Kindergartens. Through my journey as teacher and mum I learnt that children’s wellbeing was just as important as their academic capabilities. I saw that children who had space to develop life skills where more capable and open to learning.  

From there our passion was ignited and we set out to create a natural environmentally friendly space where wellbeing and academics was of equal value. Where children would learn how to make connections, express their views and collaborate as part of a team. Where they would develop a sense of agency and a confidence that they could “Do it themselves”

Diploma Qualified / Studying Bachelor of Early Education (Early Childhood and Primary) 

Hayley has been working in the sector for 19 years and has been with our service for 9 years, Hayley came to us with a wealth of experience in leadership and management and has experienced a range of roles such as Lead Educator, Educational Leader, Assistant Director and Director.  

Hayley is dedicated to having innovative and inclusive practices to welcome and support every Family and the people of the community. Hayley’s mantra for leadership is to work collaboratively with staff and families. She takes pride in developing a natural space where each staff member is safe, valued and has a sense of belonging.

Certificate III in Business Administration 

Gavin has spent over 20 years in the administration sector, Most of Gavin’s experience has been working with Charities and highlights working with the starlight foundation as one of his greatest achievements. Gavin started working with us 3 years ago and has earnt himself as quite the favourite amongst children and families. 

Gavin is the face of our home and he works closely alongside the management team executing the day to day administration practices, processing enrolments , taking fees and answering the phones just to name a few. 

Most importantly his support provides the management team with time to reflect on larger projects.

Anaisha has worked as a chef in the sector for over 10 years and has been with our service for 4 years. Aniasha has vast experience in preparing fresh and nutritious meals to children across all aged groups, dietary and lifestyle needs. 

Anaisha is passionate about children having a healthy attitude towards food and working with families to make sure our food is in line with their values. Anaisha works collaboratively with our sustainability leader within the service to grow or purchase fresh and organic produce wherever possible.

Our dedicated team of casuals ensure we run a service committed to wellbeing. Our experienced casuals take their opportunity to spend time in each room and with all children and educators. They are vibrant and enthusiastic and contribute to care and education practices. Most importantly they ensure staff get time to take a break or a day off and refuel.  

Advanced Diploma Qualified  

Sharon has been in the Early Childhood sector for over 20 years and with our service for 15 years.  Sharon has vast experience across many types of services and age groups. Sharon continues to show her genuine and nurturing nature leading our tinniest of children and their families. 

Sharon’s passionate about high quality programming and as our educational leader she works alongside our industry leaders to support them in providing an enriching program and environment for our children.

Danni is only new to the Early Childhood sector and has worked at our service for the past 18 months. Danni started as a casual and demonstrated such impressive initiative we felt she would be a perfect fulltime addition to the service. 

Danni is a go getter and takes pride in setting up a range of natural play spaces decked out with organic and recycled sensory resources.  Encouraging the babies to learn through touch and feel during their sensorimotor development. Danni often sources materials from the community and families.

Diploma Qualified  

Varinder commenced her career with us 4 years ago.  After spending much of her working life in age care Varinder did a 360 and completed her Diploma through a Traineeship and now finds herself in our Nursery room. 

Having 3 children of her own Varinder’s passion is providing individualised care for each child and their families. Varinder prides herself on understanding “baby language” and learning each child rituals to assist them in sleep, meal and play routines.

Diploma qualified  

Lily came to our service as a student and completed her placement gaining experience across all rooms. Lily has now been with us for 3 years and has shown excellent management skills, leading her room team to a mindful and flexible room structure. 

Lily comes from a big family of 8 children and is passionate about having high expectations for every child. She believes in a relaxed mindful and nurturing space where children are not hurried or rushed but encouraged to take their time and develop independent skills. She thrives on supporting parents to implement this ethos at home and often does seminars and blogs on how this practice can be implemented.

Diploma Qualified 

For 7 years we have been graced with calmness and kindness of Shizuko, Shizuko has been in the Early Childhood industry for 10 years and has mainly worked with babies and toddlers which she loves. Shizuko has worked as a lead educator for many years and is a great support to her lead educator. Shizuko is now an assistant educator so she can focus on her community relationships. 

Shizuko migrated from Japan and has a strong cultural heritage and commitment to her family’s traditions and lives with her husband who is a proud indigenous man. Shizuko does important work building connections within the community and educating staff, children and families about inclusion .

Brock is new to our service and has been working with us for 10 months. Before coming to our service Brock had completed school and spent 2 years teaching children art at a local art school.  

Brock brings a fresh perspective to the environment by finding different ways for all children to get creative using different resources and natural materials indoors and outdoors. In the age group where language is still being developed Brock loves seeing children express their emotions and thoughts through art.

Diploma Qualified  

Declan moved to Australia from Ireland 10 years ago after spending a few years as a physical education teacher in Ireland secondary schools. Declan has been at our service for 7 years now and has had experience in each room and working closely with our educational leader. 

Arriving to Australia with his wife and 2 children Declan developed a passion for promoting wellbeing for young children prior to school. Implementing programs for healthy eating, physical activity and mindfulness Declan loves seeing the joy on children’s faces when they engage with these embedded practices.

Yindi has worked in the Early Childhood sector for 2 years, 1 year of which have been with our service. Yindi got to know the children quickly by working as a casual covering breaks before beginning her assistant role in the 2- 3 year old room.  Yindi is an Indigenous Australian and is very proud to share her heritage with others. 

Corinne aspires to become an Indigenous Australian Early Childhood Liaison educator and is hoping to link in with the local aboriginal elders and the community. She is passionate about educating her peers, children and families on the importance of Aboriginal Culture and helping Aboriginal Families access early education environments. Yindi’s Voice “Children are full of heart, accepting and open to others, they have a lot to teach us”

Margaret is a highly valued member of our team and has been with our service for 9 years. She has a colourful career starting off as a Regional hospitals midwife and then a maternal health nurse. At our service Margaret has been running the “stand with parents” support program connecting vulnerable, young or new families to support groups.  

Margaret takes pride in her work in the 2 -3 year old room and is our subject expert when assisting families through toileting, feeding and supporting behaviours. All-important learning opportunities we see specifically within this age group.

Diploma Qualified / Studying her Bachelor of Early Education   

Cheryle has been in the Early Childhood sector for 5 years, 3 of those years have been with our service. Cheryle has been running the 3yr old Pre kinder room and the children absolutely love her unique personality. Cheryle is also our sustainability ambassador ensuring our practices are environmentally safe and educating our future generation. 

 Cheryle and her husband live in a sustainable home and spend much of their time growing fresh produce on their farm. She’s passionate about teaching the children, staff and families about easy to do sustainable practices and fresh produce recipes.

Pillar has been working with our service for the past 10 years. Pillar started with us by running her Spanish Music classes weekly. Pillar was so passionate about our ethos she decided to join us fulltime. She has spent time in all rooms and has extensive music teaching experience with all children 0-12 years.  

Pillar is passionate about exposing children to a diverse range of inclusive experiences. She loves that this age group ask why, explore and think through where they want to go with their learning. Pillar believes it’s a wonderful age to teach a second language through song and music and is thrilled at running her Spanish language music classes even getting the staff involved.

Certificate III in Individual Support  

Justin has worked in the Community services sector for 6 years and 12 months at our service. Justin is patient, calm and thoughtful. He has years of experience supporting the learning and inclusion of children with additional needs and disabilities. He is currently working closely with a few of our wonderful children  

Justin is passionate about our services holistic approach to learning for children with additional needs. Justin’s magic is discovering how each child specifically learns and then adapting the environments to allow for inclusion.  

Justin’s voice “If we don’t talk about additional needs how will the children learn to support and accept their peers? How will genuine inclusion occur?” 

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) 

Tristan has been a Kindergarten teacher for 10 years and has been with our service for 4 years.  Tristan has taught children all around the world running programs in Thailand, Fiji and China. Tristan brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong pedagogy. 

Tristan is committed to preparing children for school. He takes a holistic approach with relaxed unhurried play based natural environment blended with intentional structure. Tristan values children engaging in self-discovery and developing a sense of self. An importance in being able to develop connections and feel empowered to express thoughts. 

Tristan’s Voice “A child must be equipped to learn to be ready for school. This includes socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically.” 

Diploma Qualified 

Alma is new to the Early Childhood sector, finishing her Diploma and starting with us 2 years ago. Alma has always had a natural desire to work with children and give them a positive start to life .Alma has had experience in all rooms but her true passion is with the  4 year-old kinder children.  

Alma is our residential animal and nature lover, Alma and the kinder children care for our 2 pets Jimmy the parrot and Squish the guinea pig. Alma makes sure all the children take time to be mindful throughout the day. Engaging in meditation, yoga and yarning circle sessions.

Chante has worked in the sector and with our service for 2 years, Chante did her placement at our service and impressed us all with her engagement with the children. Chante always goes the extra mile for every child and family 

Chante really enjoys working with the kinder children in a collaborative manner. She enjoys having reflective discussion about different topics and then building an idea or project that can extend over a week or a month. Chante loves to push the children’s problem solving skills and engages in a large amount of reflective practice.
